The purpose of the Midcoast Umpire Association is:
- To promote the best interests of the games of baseball and softball.
- To have available an adequate number of thoroughly trained and capable umpires to provide a professional and functional service for umpiring schools and teams within the three counties in both baseball and softball.
- To promote uniform interpretations and administration of baseball/softball rules by all umpires in the Association.
- To collaborate with schools, their representatives and other organizations with the purpose of advancing the interests of baseball and softball.
- To assist in the development of high standards of character and citizenship and to encourage good sportsmanship through competition.
